Catriona Gray and Pia Wurtzbach have joined a chorus of local stars and online personalities in condemning the decision of the government to order ABS-CBN to stop its broadcast operations.

MANILA -- They both won the Miss Universe title for the country.

And on Wednesday, we learn that beauty queens Catriona Gray and Pia Wurtzbach have something else in common -- both are standing with ABS-CBN, after it was forced to go off air.

They posted their messages of solidarity with the network online, with Gray writing on Facebook: "As we face this global pandemic as a nation, fast and accessible information is key to saving lives."

"By silencing voices we’re doing a disservice to our countrymen who need it most.

"At a time in our history when we should be remembered for how we all came together to serve each other. When we look back, what will be remembered instead? #NoToABSCBNShutdown"

Wurtzbach, on the other hand, shared an artwork depicting a Filipina with her hands tied together, gagged, and blindfolded.

She posted it on Instagram with the hashtag #IStandWithABSCBN.

Other beauty queens also criticized the cease-and-desist order against ABS-CBN.
