MANILA -- Local theater stars are doing what they can to support the Philippines' frontliners in the battle against the novel coronavirus.

Aicelle Santos, Robert Sena, Isay Alvarez, Kim Molina, Cacai Bautista and the rest of the cast of "Rak of Aegis" were among those who paid tribute to medical workers through a rendition of "Munting Pangarap," a song from the hit musical.

Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) merged its artists' performances from their own homes and released a video on Tuesday, in celebration of its 53rd anniversary.

"We would like to pay tribute to our healthcare heroes and all the frontliners for their selfless efforts to help our country during this crisis. We dedicate this song 'Munting Pangarap' from the musical 'Rak of Aegis' to all of you," PETA said.

"We also dedicate this song to the rest of the Filipino people. May we find strength and never lose hope," it added.

In releasing the video, PETA also called for donations to help provide personal protective equipment and other supplies to frontliners at East Avenue Medical Center.

"Thank you very much for supporting! Join us as we transform more lives through theater," it said.
