LANAO DEL NORTE -- A huge pile of steamed crabs served as the main attraction during the 68th Charter Day of the town of Lala, a major crab-producing town in Northern Mindanao.

Hundreds of crabs were used to build the masterpiece that weighed about a ton, tourism officer Ieona Villegas said.

Aside from the stack of crabs, locals also mounted a festival dance competition that showcased life at sea and how crab farming had been the key to alleviating the living conditions of impoverished residents.
