Cruz started learning to use the hula hoop when she was 7years old, she told PEP.ph, but only recently, in September 2017, did she make it a means to get fit.

Six months since she started with her hula hoop routine, Cruz said she can already see results. Besides her 26-inch waistline, the actress pointed out that at "my height of 5-foot-6, I'm at my ideal weight of 120 pounds."

While her hula hoop skills helped to achieve this, Cruz added that of equal importance were her discipline and diet. "A personal trainer comes to my home 3 times a week. Zumba and a custom-made diet plan helped me shed the unwanted pounds that I didn't need," she said.
