How restaurants are responding to Metro Manila quarantine

MANILA – Restaurant owners have been doing their part in preventing the spread of the novel coronavirus, with the one-month quarantine in Metro Manila to be implemented starting March 15.

Below are some of the announcements made in the respective social media pages of various establishments and restaurant groups.

DADS WORLD BUFFET

The group behind the concepts Dads World Buffet, Kamayan, Saisaki, Ogetsu Hime, and Number 1 Barbecues said customers can “request their food to be brought to their tables,” adding that “buffet dishes are regularly checked and immediately replenished to maintain service temperature.”

FLATIRON 1771

Aside from sanitizing menus before and after they are used by each guest, this restaurant in Taguig ensured that it is closely monitoring the health of its staff. It said those experiencing symptoms such as cough, sneezing, or fever will be advised to stay home.

GREENERY KITCHEN

This restaurant in Makati has temporarily closed its dine-in service until further notice, instead offering food for delivery and pickup.

RAMBLA

The group behind the restaurants Rambla, Las Flores, and La Lola, among others, said it is “taking necessary precautions on a daily basis to ensure the safety of our guests and team members within our establishments.”



THE BISTRO GROUP

Known to hold franchises of popular international chains like TGI Fridays, Italianni’s, Denny’s, and Texas Roadhouse, this restaurant group assured the public that it is “enforcing the highest standards for proper sanitation on food equipment, cooking, and dining areas.”

THE MOMENT GROUP

The restaurant group that houses the homegrown concepts Manam, Ooma, and 8 Cuts (among others) said it is regularly sanitizing its surfaces and tableware “with a 200 ppm quat cleaning and sanitizing agent,” with its areas equipped with antibacterial soap and alcohol-based hand sanitizers.

VIKINGS GROUP

The group behind the restaurants Vikings Luxury Buffet and The Alley (to name a few) informed the public that it is taking extra precautionary measures, from sanitizing restroom handles every 15 minutes to providing surgical masks to employees “both in and out of the kitchen.”
