MANILA — Korina Sanchez and Mar Roxas consider the arrival of their newborn twins a “miracle,” having waited for a family milestone for nearly a decade after they got married.

The twins — a boy and a girl — were “born by surrogacy from our embryos,” according to Sanchez.

Sanchez, 54, and Roxas, 61, have made no secret of “trying very hard” to have children over the years. That they finally have babies of their own (Roxas has a 25-year-old son, Paolo, from a previous relationship), particularly past mid-life is an answered prayer which they had thought impossible at one point.

The “Rated K” host and senatorial candidate are not the only celebrities parents who welcomed a newborn past the age of 50. In photos, here’s a look at others who had a similar milestone:
