MANILA – After competing in the 65th Miss Universe pageant, Israel’s Yam Kaspers Anshel is planning to stay longer in the Philippines to further explore the country.

During the after party of the Miss Universe on Monday night, Anshel told ABS-CBN News that she is extending her stay in the country for two more weeks.

“I’m going to Boracay to have some fun. I want to see the Philippines. It’s amazing, I love it here, it’s so beautiful. I’m with my mom and my director,” she said.

Although she did not make it the first cut, Anshel said she still feels like a winner “just getting to know each other and being here in the Philippines.”

Aside from Anshel, Colombia's Andrea Tovar is also extending her stay in the Philippines for a couple of days to see more of the country.

Meanwhile, Anshel shared how ecstatic she is for her roommate, France’s Iris Mittenaere, for being the new Miss Universe.

“I’m so happy for her. We really got connected in the past few weeks and I love her. I think her personality [made her win]. She is beautiful inside and outside. She deserves it so much,” she said.

Anshel is hoping Mittenaere could also visit Israel someday.

“We are really good friends. She promised me she’ll come to Tel Aviv. I’m holding her on that promise. I’m so happy for her,” she said.
