MANILA – Japanese actress and dancer Riyo Mori, who won Miss Universe in 2007, arrived in Manila on Tuesday for the 65th edition of the international pageant.
“We’re here! Thank you for the warm welcome, Philippines,” Mori wrote in an Instagram post. She did not mention her role in the international beauty contest.
In another post, Mori is seen holding a photo of Filipina beauty queen Pia Wurtzbach, the current Miss Universe titleholder.
“All you beautiful girls… are you ready?” she asked.
Mori is the second woman from Japan to win the Miss Universe title after Akiko Kojima in 1959.
The 65th Miss Universe coronation will be held at the Mall of Asia Arena on January 30.
