MANILA – Despite her hectic schedule leading up to the 65th Miss Universe pageant, titleholder Pia Wurtzbach still makes time to pursue her advocacy on HIV/AIDS awareness.

Over the weekend, Wurtzbach attended an event where she turned over more than 4 million pesos from a cosmetics company to help patients suffering from HIV/AIDS and raise awareness about the virus.

Wurtzbach donated a check worth P2 million from the MAC AIDS Fund to HIV/AIDS patients in San Lazaro Hospital. The amount was raised through the sales of the MAC Viva Glam lipstick line.

An additional P2.7 million from the MAC AIDS Fund was also donated to the Positive Action Foundation Group for the benefit of HIV/AIDS patients.

Joining Wurtzbach at the event were other Miss Universe candidates like Miss Universe Kenya, Miss Universe Iceland and Miss Universe New Zealand.
