MANILA – They were supposed to tie the knot in the first quarter of 2020, but celebrity couple Joyce Pring and Juancho Trivino had to make a last-minute change in venue following the eruption of the Taal Volcano.

In an interview with the entertainment website Pep, Trivino expressed his concern for the people living in the Taal area.

“Mag-change venue kami dahil sa nangyari sa Taal Volcano,” he said, not giving details about their original plans.

Trivino, who grew up in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, went on to send his prayers to his family and other people affected by the ashfall.

“At this point kasi, kahit ‘yung parents ko, ‘yung family ko, nag-move out,” he said. “My prayers are for the people living in the area. Sa Sta. Rosa, medyo malubha na ‘yung area. What more dun sa malalapit?”

The actor went on: “It’s a hard time. Hard time talaga ‘yung mga nangyari. Kahit ako apektado ako, nai-stress ako. ‘Yun ang mga nagko-consume ng thoughts ko. ‘Yung mga kaibigan ko, mga mahal ko, marami akong mahal sa buhay na nasa Sta. Rosa. I grew up in the area, simula elementary, high school, doon ako lumaki.”

Early this week, Pring and Trivino revealed photos from their engagement shoot in the island of Siargao.

It was in November 2019 when Pring announced her engagement to Trivino via a Twitter post.
