MANILA—Many Filipinos, in fact a good majority of them according to an international study, believe news media outlets are fair and accurate in their reporting.

Based on a report published by the Pew Research Center titled "Publics Globally Want Unbiased News Coverage, but Are Divided on Whether Their News Media Deliver," 86% of those surveyed said news is reported accurately while 78% thought political issues are covered fairly in the Philippines.

According to the Pew report, 86% of Filipinos said they follow national news, 49% of which follow such reports "very closely."
