MANILA -- Actor Gerald Anderson was once again given recognition for his rescue efforts during the onslaught of typhoon Carina.

Star Magic on Tuesday via a social media post, shared that the City Government of General Santos recognized Anderson's acts of heroism amid the super typhoon last July. The actor's mother is from General Santos.

Photos of Anderson being presented with award on Monday were uploaded online by ABS-CBN's talent management.

"Another round of salutes and applause to #GeraldAnderson, whose unwavering commitment and admirable heroism as Auxiliary Commander was recognized by the City Government of General Santos for his brave acts of heroism amid Super Typhoon Carina last July 2024.

"Gerald was presented the award yesterday in an ceremony at General Santos City by City Mayor Lorelie Geronimo Pacquiao herself. General Santos’ Office of the Panlungsod also filed a resolution commending Gerald for his invaluable and selfless service to the country last August 2024.

"Mabuhay ka, Gerald, at and iba pang mga bayani na handang sumerbisyo at sumaklolo sa mga oras ng pangangailangan!" the post read.

Anderson made headlines weeks ago after he helped victims of Typhoon Carina in Quezon City. He was seen helping volunteers rescue some residents who were stranded by floods.

It was not the first time that he helped victims during a typhoon.

Anderson, who was trained to rescue, was also recognized by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) for his rescue efforts during Typhoon Carina.

Anderson is set to make a television via the series "Nobody" where he will portray a law enforcer.
