MANILA -- Actor Gerald Anderson turned to social media to honor rescuers and volunteers who risked their lives to help victims of typhoon Carina and the habagat.

On Instagram, Anderson uploaded a video which showed the heroism of the volunteers and rescuers.  

"Filipinos will continue to rise, no matter the obstacles we face. 🇵🇭 Prayers to all victims of Typhoon Carina 🙏🏼 To all the volunteers & rescuers, Maraming Salamat 🇵🇭❤️💯#ctto," Anderson captioned his post.

Anderson was among the celebrities who lent a helping hand to victims of typhoon Carina in Quezon City.

Anderson, a Philippine Army reservist, was seen helping volunteers rescue some residents who were stranded by floods. It was not the first time that he helped victims during a typhoon.

Metro Manila on last week declared under state of calamity due to the monsoon rains enhanced by typhoon Carina.
