MANILA -- "It's Showtime" host Ryan Bang knew that his non-showbiz girlfriend, Paola Huyong, is "the one" for him just six months into their relationship.

And on Friday evening, Bang finally popped the question to Huyong at her cafe during her brother's birthday party.

"One year na kami. After 6 months naging kami, naisip ko na," he recalled in an interview in Quezon City, Saturday.

("We've been together for one year. After 6 months of being together, I already thought about it.")

"Siyempre sobra ako kinabahan. Grabe tibok ng puso ko. Birthday ng Kuya niya. Yung last year kasi June 20, may na-upload kami vlog sa Pop-up store niya. Ngayon may coffee shop siya, baby niya. First store, I wanted to propose there. Kunware nag vlo-vlog. Closing spiels ako, siya. Tas habang nag spiels ako— lumuhod na ako. Pag harap niya may singsing na to," he added.

("Of course, I was really nervous. My heart was beating so fast. It was her older brother's birthday. Last year on June 20, we uploaded a vlog at his pop-up store. Now, he has a coffee shop, that is her baby. It's her first store, and I wanted to propose there. I pretended we were vlogging, I started doing the closing spiels, her too. Then while I was doing the spiels—I knelt down. When she turned around, I had the ring.")

According to Bang, one of the reasons he knew Huyong was "the one" because he wholeheartedly felt accepted and loved not only by his partner but also by her entire family.

"Ang buhay natin up and down. Narealize ko mga pinagdadaanan namin. May masayang moments, yung travels. Grabe din paano ako tinangap ng pamilya ko. Grabe yung walang judgement. Paano inaccept ako, family ko, culture ko, pagkatao ko. Alam mo na eh. Ramdam mo siya na pang habang buhay mo kasama," he explained.

("It was a roller coaster. I've realized the things we go through. There are happy moments, like our travels. But it's also amazing how my family accepted me. The lack of judgment is incredible. How my family, culture, and who I am were accepted. You just  know it. You feel that your relationship is for a lifetime.")

The "It's Showtime" host also revealed that while was nervous about proposing, asking for Huyong's parents' permission was even more nerve-wracking.

Just recently, Bang revealed on his Instagram account that both his and Huyong's parents met over dinner.

"Manhikan ako last week sa bahay, kung saan parents. Nagpaalam ako. Iyon pala pinaka mahirap. Di naman ako… noong nakausap ko na magulang, doon masarap na pakiramdam. Excited na sila. Na-happy din sila sinasabi ko totoo. Sincere at natupad," he said.

("I did the traditional proposal visit to my parents' house last week, where I asked for their blessing. I didn't realize it would be the hardest part. But when I spoke with my parents, it felt good. They were excited and happy that I was sincere and that it was fulfilled.")

Bang said he and Huyong have yet to plan their wedding. However, he hopes to get married in the Philippines.

"Paguusapan pa lang namin. Gusto ko dito. Dito talaga buhay ko. Sa Korea kami, small wedding. Sa Pilipinas gusto ko main wedding," he said.

("We will talk about it. I want to do it here. My life is here. In Korea probably a small wedding. I want the main wedding in the Philippines.")
