MANILA — Working with young performers on "The Voice" has inspired Martin Nievera to pursue collaborations with different artists as he continues his music career.

Nievera has been a coach in the kids and teens editions of "The Voice" since 2023, along with KZ Tandingan and Bamboo.

"Anyone, there's no too small, too big, yesterday's singers, today's singers, soon to be singers, even one of my kids from 'The Voice Teens', even a concert with 'The Voice Teens', that's my job, that's my role," Nievera said Sunday during his contract renewal with ABS-CBN.

"I take my coaching on 'The Voice Teens' very seriously and whatever promises I give to these kids, I try to keep because we're here to somehow strengthen this industry to finding your next balladeer, your next rock singer, your next KZ (Tandingan), that's my job, that's my role, to get another step further," he added.

Nievera also hopes that he will learn from the new generation as he seeks to keep growing as a performer.

"Collaborations are very in right now and I really, really want to ... I would love to be part of the new acts, new singers, the new names, the new trending people, I would love to learn from them," he said.

"All the answers now to many of your questions belong to the youth, to the young singers. I just wanna be one of those people to sit down, shut my mouth and listen to what they would want to say. Nievera is currently one of the mainstays of ABS-CBN's musical variety show "ASAP Natin 'To," along with Regine Velasquez, Ogie Alcasid and Gary Valenciano, among others.
