MANILA -- Filipino rock band Sponge Cola has released a melancholic track entitled "Tatlong Buwan", inspired by the viral K-drama "Queen of Tears".

The song tells the touching message of a person willing to wait and stay by someone's side -- as long as it will take -- just to make the latter feel unconditional love.

The band's frontman Yael Yuzon also announced that they filmed a music video for the track featuring the same locations that were seen in the K-drama.

“Wrote our new song ‘Tatlong Buwan’ after watching episode 10 of Queen of Tears and boom, flew in and out of Korea, and the music video is done!” Yael said.

Sponge Cola's vocalist mentioned that they went to Seoul and Chungju in South Korea to film the music video. He also called the project a “labor of love from a fellow Queen of Tears fan".

"I couldn’t help it, it was too moving to not write. There was an overwhelming need for a catharsis," he added.

This is the second time Yael was inspired by a K-drama to write a song. Previously, Sponge Cola dropped the song "Siguro Nga" which was based on another hit series "Start Up".

Fans can stream "Tatlong Buwan" on music streaming platforms, but the group has yet to release its music video.

Meanwhile, Nielsen Korea reported that the latest episode of "Queen of Tears" on tvN got a nationwide rating of 21.625 on April 21, the show's highest since it started on March 9.
