MANILA -- "Unkabogable" superstar Vice Ganda is set to star in a new movie this year.

In Friday's episode of "It's Showtime," the ace comedian confirmed his upcoming project under Star Cinema.

The film will be directed by award-winning filmmaker Jun Robles Lana, who also graced the noontime show to join Vice in announcing the movie titled "And The Breadwinner Is..."

Kaya madlang people, this is it -- new movie alert. Your mother will be mothering again sa mga sinehan.

For his part, Lana said the film's story is personal for him and Ganda.

Joining the film is "Showtime" co-host Jhong Hilario, who also thanked Vice for asking him to be part of the project.

"Ang tagal ko ng walang pelikula at 'yung teleserye parang 'Probinsyano' pa ang huli so na-miss ko ang acting at thank you dahil isinama mo ako. Sobrang excited, sobrang excited. So thank you," Hilario told Vice.

Vice's last movie was the 2022 Metro Manila Film Festival entry "Partners in Crime" with Kapamilya actress Ivana Alawi.
