MANILA -- "Under Parallel Skies" will bring the kilig -- and the tears.

This, according to Kapamilya actress Janella Salvador, who stars in the movie along with Thai actor Win Metawin. The film, produced by 28 Squared Studios and Two Infinity Entertainment, is scheduled to be released in April.

"Kilig talaga. Maraming kilig doon sa movie, but siguro mag-ready din kayo ng tissue," Salvador told MJ Felipe on "On Cue," when asked what the film is about.

She later told ABS-CBN News in a separate interview that "Under Parallel Skies" is a "romcom na nakakaiyak."

The film was shot over 20 days in Hong Kong and directed by Sigrid Bernardo. Its first trailer was released last February 1, which featured a kiss between Salvador and Metawin.

"Win is actually very nice. The funny thing is we're both quiet, we're both very reserved, so the first few days, it was a bit awkward," Salvador said of her co-star, who has established a considerable following in the Philippines thanks to the success of his BL hit "2gether: The Series" with Thai actor Bright Vachirawit.

"Eventually, of course, we made an effort to speak to each other, to get to know each other. We did workshops together. And working with him wasn't that hard," she added. "He's very nice, and he actually treated us to dinner when I went to Thailand for workshops."

In a previous interview, Bernardo praised both Salvador and Metawin for their performances in "Under Parallel Skies."

"Working with two actors from different countries was a truly enriching experience. It allowed cultural exchange and brought a unique flavor to the film. Win and Janella brought their own perspectives, acting styles, and nuances to their characters, which added depth and authenticity to the story. It was interesting to witness the blending of their talents and see how they complemented each other on screen," the director said.

Salvador, who recently signed a contract extension with ABS-CBN, said working with actors from outside the Philippines is something she wants to continue doing in the future.

"I always end up pushing myself outside my comfort zone. And I think it's what makes me grow as an actress. So, yeah, I'm up for the challenge," she said.
