Claudine Barretto revealed on Wednesday what was going through her mind as she offered to bring a man who had a gunshot wound to a nearby hospital.
The actress spoke to DZMM about her act of kindness, saying that anyone would have done the same thing as she did.
She was in a small hospital handing out her Christmas gifts to her friends when the man's family arrived.
The hospital didn't have the proper facilities to perform the needed operation and there was no ambulance available. The victim's family tried to hail a cab to move him to another hospital.
Unfortunately, none would stop for the victim, Barretto said. At that point, she decided to step in and offer her vehicle.
"Nahiya sila kasi puro dugo nga iyong kotse. Pero siyempre, ginawa ko lang naman kung ano iyong gagawin ng kahit sino siguro na nasa posisyon ko," she said.
"It was a miracle. Siguro I was at the right place at the right time," she added.
Asked if she had second thoughts about her good samaritan act, Barretto replied: "Wala, tulong agad. Hindi ako natakot sa dugo. Hindi ko alam kung bakit. Ang instant reaction ko was to make sure na kailangan madala agad sa hospital [iyong victim]."
