She's one of the most loved and most praised actresses, but perhaps Kathryn Bernardo is also one of the most criticized, too.

This topic was brought up on "Tonight with Boy Abunda" Tuesday and she was asked about her thoughts on being called "retokada" and accused of taking an unhealthy amount of skin-whitening products.

The "3 Words to Forever" star denied these but added there's nothing wrong if people want to "improve" how they look.

"Hindi talaga," she said of the accusations. "Nagpa-retoke, nilaklak ang gluta,' 'kasi dati, sobrang itim niyan tapos ngayon ang puti?' — Puwede bang nag-mature lang kaya ganoon?"

"And iyong ibang tao na nagpapa-retoke? Walang masama doon kasi una katawan nila iyon. At anong masama kung gusto nilang mas gumanda at ma-improve iyong sarili nila?" she added.

Bernardo was on the late-night talk show to promote her new movie, "3 Words to Forever," billed as the reunion movie of Sharon Cuneta and Richard Gomez.

It was directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina and is currently showing in cinemas nationwide. Watch the trailer below:
