MANILA -- She took the stage and belted out all the high notes of what has come to be popularly known as the Queen of the Night's aria. It was the first time she had done the piercing opera song in full, after performing parts of it earlier this year.

And while the "ASAP Natin 'To" number --aired from a Rome show, was widely praised on social media, Jona Viray knew that it could be so much better, especially to the ears of professionals.

She even admitted in a Facebook post on Tuesday that she was terrified to sing it, mulling over what the opera and classical music community might think of her attempt.

Viray labeled herself as primarily a "pop singer" and wrote: "I was totally scared, tensed and stiff the entire performance because it was my first time doing the aria in full."

She continued: "I know for sure they [the opera and classical music community] have maaany things to say, technically... But I still took the risk. Bahala na."

"I DO know it is truly, truly far from what it should be."

"But I also have adoration for this kind of music and I'm willing to learn for more --open for major improvements. But much thanks to some of you for appreciating, even just the bravery and enthusiasm to sing it to the 'mainstream/pop' audience."

She then felt the need to clarify that she did take a year of music college classes at the University of Santo Tomas in 2009, but had to drop out due to her showbiz obligations.

She added that it was only recently that she picked up lessons on classical music again in preparation for the concert she had prepared with other of her fellow "ASAP Natin 'To" mainstays.

"So to the professionals, please be forgiving," she wrote. Anyway, dami ko na po kwento. Maraming salamat po uli sa lahat ng naka-appreciate. You guys inspire me to do more of this kind, and be better. God bless!"
