MANILA - Actress Issa Pressman recently opened up about her same-sex relationship with singer Marga Bermudez, saying she wanted to "be honest" regardless of how the public would receive
news that she is bisexual.

Issa and Marga have been posting couple photos on their social media accounts but rarely give details on how their relationship started until they were interviewed in a toothpaste brand's campaign video about love.

The singer said she immediately took notice of the actress, who frequented events she attended.

"When I saw her... she was far and I said, 'Who's that girl?'
She's like the most beautiful girl in this whole room, who is she?," Bermudez said in the video.

"We never got to formally meet each other, like no one introduced us to each other," Pressman said.

"She would co-host the night (event) and I found myself always wanting to go there every Wednesday," she said.

The pair eventually grew close and decided to become an official couple.

"I reached a point where 'You know what, I wanna be honest.' If people see us in public, we are how we are," Pressman said.

"If we're together, then we're together," she said.

It was easy for her family to accept their relationship, Pressman said.

"For them, if you're happy with what you are doing, if you think what you are doing is something that could make you happy, would make you happy, then go ahead. That's what my dad would always say," she said.

Bermudez said several friends and acquaintances told them that they would be better off dating others, but the relationship kept going as they were not "fixated on what people are telling" them.

"It's not rocket science. If you love somebody and you're sure, and you're not hurting anybody and you are being the best version of yourself with this person, or you feel like you could be the best version of yourself with this person, then there's really nothing wrong," Bermudez said.

"If you find love and happiness in a person, then that is love and happiness. You are free to love," Issa said.

"Truth is, love does really win," she said.
