Cardo (Coco Martin) remains the undisputed king of primetime as he fended off on Monday a new challenger in nationwide ratings, according to Kantar Media.
“FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” continued its winning streak on November 19 with a national TV rating of 40.1% — more than double the viewership of its latest time slot rival, “Cain at Abel,” which registered 17.6%.
The numbers were announced Tuesday by Dreamscape Entertainment Television, the ABS-CBN production unit behind “Ang Probinsyano.”
While they star in competing programs, the respective actors of “Ang Probinsyano” and “Cain at Abel” appear cordial in real life, with Martin and Dennis Trillo exchanging warm words on social media.
“Ang Probinsyano,” which is now on its third year on air, has been the consistent top-rating TV show in the country since it premiered in 2015.
In October, for instance, it averaged a national TV rating of 43.6%.
In recent weeks, the ABS-CBN program has been dragged into a controversy following the vocal disapproval of Philippine National Police chief Oscar Albayalde of the fictitious depiction of the agency.
