MANILA – Arjo Atayde finally opened about his half-sister after his mother, veteran actress Sylvia Sanchez, admitted in one of her TV interviews that he is not her eldest child.

Speaking to entertainment site PEP, Atayde explained that the reason his sister Pia is not in their family photos is because “she chose to have her own life. She chose to be with her dad than with us.”

Despite this, Atayde, who is working with Sanchez for the first time in the upcoming series “Hanggang Saan,” stressed that he still considers Pia part of their family.

“No matter what problem comes in, at the end of the day, you’re family. Family is family. Magkaproblema o walang problema, you guys will back up each other, you know,” he said.

Even if they are not as close as before, Atayde maintained that "she's still my blood."

“She’s still in my heart, she’s still my sister. But, you know, life is life. There are some things that you have to move on from. There are some things that you won’t forget but let go,” he said.

During her “Magandang Buhay” interview, Sanchez said she was only 17 when she had Pia.
