MANILA -- Miss Universe titlists Pia Wurtzbach and Catriona Gray were among the celebrities who sought to inspire followers early this week, as they took on the viral “As She Is” challenge on social media.

With messages of embracing one’s insecurities, the Filipino pageant stars shared selfies without makeup, and nominated fellow queens to do the same.

But even before the “As She Is” challenge, several models and actresses have been posting no-makeup photos, similarly with the intention to empower women to feel comfortable and even confident in their own skin, with their own “imperfections.”
