YG Entertainment confirmed on Friday that Korean artist CL has decided to part ways with the agency.

In a statement, YG said they "came to an agreement with CL to end her exclusive contract."

The agency also asked fans to support CL's new activities as they "cheer her on with unchanging trust and affection."

Born Lee Chae-rin, CL debuted in 2009 as the leader and main rapper of the girl group 2NE1, with members Park Bom, Sandara Park and Gong Minzy.

Their singles include "Fire," "I Am The Best," "Crush," and "Come Back Home."

As a solo singer, CL released "The Baddest Female," "MTBD," and "Hello Bitches."
