MANILA -- The second half of 2017 turned really busy for actress Cristine Reyes. In a span of only three weeks, she has two movies showing at the tills one after the other.

Reyes cannot be any prouder that she was given stellar billing in Star Cinema's latest box office hit, “Seven Sundays.” The family drama-comedy, directed by Cathy Garcia Molina, has raked in more than P180 million at the box office and continues its successful theater run.

Reyes remains thankful that her film comeback, following a two-year hiatus, was very well patronized by the movie-going public.

To her, “Seven Sundays” was a “dream project” and she was truly proud to have shared stellar billing with Aga Muhlach, Dingdong Dantes, Enrique Gil and veteran actor Ronaldo Valdez.

Next in Reyes’ film schedule is the horror thriller, “Spirit of the Glass 2: The Haunted,” directed by Jose Javier Reyes. The star-studded horror flick from OctoArts-TRex Productions, is slated to be shown on All Saints' Day, November 1.

Reyes plays a magazine editor who invites her friends to her aunt’s house located in an area that used to be a cemetery. She and her friends discover an old ouija board and they play Sprit of the Glass. Inevitably, they get to unearth deep, dark secrets that lead them to a portal with unwelcomed entities.

This is not the first time that Reyes has done a horror movie. In the past, she starred in “Pasiyam,” Tumbok” and “Patient X.”

“Spirit of the Glass 2: The Haunted” also topbils Daniel Matsunaga, Janine Gutierrez, Benjamin Alvez, Ash Ortega and Enrico Cuenca. Making her big screen debut in the movie is Binibining Pilipinas Universe 2016 Maxine Medina.

Yet, despite getting preoccupied with film projects, Reyes certainly knows her priority, especially since she is now mom to two-year-old Amarah and wife to Ali Khatibi. She gave birth in February 2015 then tied the knot last year.

The 28-year-old actress knows the importance of spending time with her family, no matter how busy her schedule gets. Her daughter is fast growing and she sees to it that she and her husband get to bond regularly with Amarah.

“When I gave birth, I know that family would be my priority,” Reyes allows. “It was initially challenging to do it and it was hard. But I guess I was ready to become a mother and a wife, so getting that into my system was not hard.”

Admittedly, Reyes is happy and fulfilled now that she has a family. Rather than go out with her friends which was her normal wont before, she spends whatever free time she has now with Ali and Amarah, especially when she is not working.

Reyes has turned hands-on when it comes to parenting and taking care of Amarah. Being a wife and mother has made her more conscious about the roles she does on TV and the movies.

Apparently, going sexy is a thing of the past for her now that she is a wife and a mother.

After she gave birth, Reyes returned to showbiz last year, resumed her acting career and starred in the late-afternoon tele-serye, “Tubig at Langis.” Then came the movies again. She is presently wrapping up another movie for Viva Films, making her really thankful that she is pre-occupied with work.

“I’m so blessed and thankful that I get to balance work and family life,” Reyes admits. “Not every showbiz star who settles down gets to enjoy both her work and family at the same time. To me, everything seems to fall into the right place and I’m really thankful for that.”
