MANILA - In the end, it was Ecuador's Katherine Espín who came out on top. The 23-year-old model and cosmetologist grabbed her country's second Miss Earth title Saturday evening in a grand pageant held at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Prior to the competition, there were much talk about the Philippines winning an unprecedented three-peat. Those hopes, however, quickly vanished after Imelda Schweighart failed to make the first cut. Still, judging from the vibrant crowd chanting the names of their favorites, it was an entertaining night overall.

From the swimsuits to all those evening gowns, below are just some of the highlights from this year's Miss Earth pageant:

MANILA -- The long-running reality program "Pinoy Big Brother" returned Sunday, marking a historic collaboration as the famed "Bahay ni Kuya" opened its doors to talents from both ABS-CBN and GMA Network for a special celebrity edition.

Singers Darren and Julie Anne San Jose kicked off the "Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition" with a fresh rendition of the reality show's theme song, "Sikat Ang Pinoy," joined by the previous edition's "Big Four"  Fyang, Kai, Rain and Kolette as dancers.

"Masaya kasi nakasama ko si Ate Julie sa song na ‘to, and nakakakilig na every night mapapakinggan na nila yung mga boses namin pag nanood sila ng 'PBB'," Darren said.

“Sobrang surreal eh, parang dati pinag-uusapan lang ng mga tao and then now, live na live na collaboration with ABS-CBN,” San Jose added.
