MANILA -- Daniel Matsunaga is in the throes of a brand new romance.

The actor-model confirmed the happy news to reporters during a press conference held last week for his upcoming new film, "Spirit of the Glass 2: The Haunted," sharing: "Yes, we're together."

Matsunaga is dating Karolina Pisarek -- a 20-year-old model who finished runner-up in the fifth season of Poland's version of "America's Next Top Model" back in 2015.

She is based in the US, and was said, according to a tabloid report, to have met Matsunaga when she visited Palawan.

Matsunaga, who dated Erich Gonzales before their messy breakup early this year, refused to give further details about his new relationship, explaining that he wants to keep it private this time around.

"I just want to have it really quiet and masaya," he said.

Both he and Pisarek have yet to post snaps of them together.

Based on her Instagram photos, Pisarek was in the Philippines for two weeks last August. She described it as "paradise," and wrote that "life is full of surprises" while she was still in the country.

Matsunaga didn't reveal how he and Pisarek met. He also said that he doesn't mind having a long-distance relationship, suggesting that Pisarek will not be moving to the Philippines anytime soon.

"If you love someone, that doesn't stop me," he claimed.

It was back in May when Matsunaga first said that he has already moved on from his high-profile breakup with Gonzales.

Matsunaga said he and and the actress are now civil with each other and he will also be happy for his ex-girlfriend if ever she finally decides to date again.

"I am really happy for her. From the bottom of my heart, I just want the best for her," he said.
