MANILA -- After singing the theme song of "We Will Survive," Jona gets another major project as she collaborates with Kyla for the 25th commemorative album of "Maalaala Mo Kaya."

The special album also features OPM icons Lea Salonga, Martin Nievera, Gary Valenciano, Lani Misalucha, Ogie Alcasid, Zsa Zsa Padilla, and Sharon Cuneta.

At a press launch early this month, Kyla said it is a privilege to be singing for the country's longest-running drama anthology.

“Nakakaiyak po. Parang nakakaproud na ‘Yes! Kasama ako dito’,” she said as quoted by Push.

Jona, for her part, said she did not expect to be part of the project since she is only new in the network.

“At first po, hindi po ako makapaniwala kasi siyempre, makakasama po namin dito si Ma’am Charo (Santos) and alam naman natin lahat na siya ‘yung kaisa-isa na nilu-look up po talaga ng mga kababaihan,” she said.

Both Jona and Kyla are from GMA7. Kyla joined ABS-CBN in 2015, while Jona inked her contract just last February.

In the album, Jona and Kyla perform a duet of Celine Dion’s "Because You Loved Me."
