MANILA - Jonalyn Viray is now a Kapamilya, with the singer changing her screen name to Jona.

Her first project is to interpret the theme song of the upcoming ABS-CBN series "We Will Survive", which will debut on February 29 before "TV Patrol".

The soap stars Melai Cantiveros and Pokwang.

"Siyempre very happy at kinakabahan po ako. Siyempre sobrang bagong environment, bagong makakatrabaho, pero masaya po ako kasi bagong experience po ito para sa akin. Nae-excite po ako," she said after her live performance of "I Will Survive" during the press conference of "We Will Survive" on Wednesday.

When asked why she decided to move to ABS-CBN, the singer replied: "Siguro po kasi mas nabigyan po nila ako ng tiwala sa ngayon. At kumbaga, mayroon po talagang naka-lineup na project for me."

She went on to explain the reason why she changed her screen name to Jona.

"Jona kasi nickname ko po talaga siya. So 'yun po ang ibinigay sa akin ngayon since it's a fresh start -- bagong home, bagong environment. Kaya po Jona," she said.

Meanwhile, Viray said she would be happy to be part of the Sunday musical variety show "ASAP" if given the opportunity.

"May possibility po. Kung mabibigyan po ako ng pagkakataon, okay po sa akin," she said.
