MANILA -- Singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid on Wednesday revealed that he was initially being considered to host the local version of "Little Big Shots."

"I'm just thankful to ABS-CBN that they even considered, that I was given the opportunity to do the mock shoot. And I'm so happy that it went to Billy. I'm very proud of him. Obviously he deserves it more than I do. I even texted him. Sabi ko, 'Pare, I'm 100% behind you all the way' and I wish him all the success," stressed Alcasid, who explained that it was not ABS-CBN but the international franchise owner's decision to get Crawford to host the show.

That's part of the process. You have to take that kahit 50 years old na ako at ang tagal-tagal ko na dito, dapat ganoon talaga," Alcasid said.
