MANILA — Actor Jerome Ponce credits his “connection” with volleyball star Mika Reyes, in spite of their different backgrounds, as one of the reasons for their lasting relationship.

“Actually, pagdating sa relationship naman… Minsan, kailangan niyo lang mag-jibe diyan, kailangan mo din lang mag-adjust,” he was quoted as saying by PEP.ph.

“Kailangan mo lang din minsan mag-connect kahit parehas pa kayong artista, kahit hindi kayo artista, magkaibang propesyon kayo. Kung anuman, hindi kayo magkaedad, mas bata, mas matanda, wala, as long as jibe kayo, iyon ‘yun,” he added.

Ponce described his three-year relationship with Reyes as “very normal, sweet, and loving.”

Meanwhile, he denied rumors saying he is currently in a “live-in” setup with Reyes.

“Hindi naman!” he said, laughing. “May sarili pa kaming… May family siya, may family din ako. Kailangan ko pang tapusin ‘yung bahay na binili ko. At mga kapatid ko pa. Priorities.”
