When she was called onstage on Thursday to present their entry to this year's Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino, Sue Ramirez joked that she might faint out of nervousness. "Nakakahiya at naka-Amerikana pa naman . . . ," she admitted, before blurting out: "Pero wala akong bra!"
If Ramirez was feeling nervous at all, like she said, it didn't show when she was channeling her character Adela Johnson, otherwise referred to as the "best slut in town."
The way she talked about the way she dressed certainly gave a sense of just how confident the young actress is with herself at the moment: this, she said, was why she accepted the sexy role.
"Napakatapang na desisyon ang hinarap ko para tanggapin ang project na ito," she told everyone. "Pero no hesitations at all nu'ng nabasa ko iyong script dahil it's something I'm afraid to do."
"Sabi ko nga this year I'm going to venture out to things that I'm afraid to do."
Speaking with ABS-CBN News' MJ Felipe after the presentation, Ramirez explained that she agreed to do daring scenes "as far as the director needed" but also "as far as Star Magic allowed."
She also shared her experience working on "Cuddle Weather," saying: "Noong una akala ko mahihirapan ako pero working with all the people behind the cameras, I was well taken care of."
"They asked me if I was comfortable with the scenes and if I'm not, medyo may mga itre-treat sila. I felt very safe."
She also said that the she was not completely naked in the scenes shown in the teaser, and all of that was done through the "art of cinematography."
The synopsis for "Cuddle Weather" reads: "After realizing that prostitutes are not entitled to the best part of love making, two sex workers form a screwy relationship as 'cuddle partners' only to realize that they want something more."
Ramirez is co-starred by RK Bagatsing under the direction of Rod Marmol.
The movie is produced by Project 8 corner San Joaquin and Regal Entertainment, and will be shown as part of the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino this September.
