<p>MANILA -- Some of the first Filipino films to ever be made from a century ago may feel completely foreign aesthetically, but its themes do not: family, friendship, and love continue to resonate with many. </p><p>And with the 100th anniversary of Philippine cinema just around the corner, the organizers of the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (PPP) unveiled their selection on Thursday with the idea of highlighting those elements and to celebrate what these themes mean for us. </p>
