MANILA – James “Bimby” Yap Jr., 11, has been vocal about his admiration for 21-year-old Julia Barretto.

And the actress doesn’t seem to mind, saying she appreciates his sweet gestures.

The two get to spend more time together as Yap’s mother, Kris Aquino, is Barretto’s co-star in the movie “I Love You, Hater.”

“I appreciate it so much because dinadaan niya talaga sa actions,” Barretto said in an interview on “Tonight with Boy Abunda.” “Kunyari sa set nakikita niya na nagya-yawn ako, [Bimby will say] ‘Ate Julia, I have chocolates for you.’ Ang daming chocolates!”

Barretto went on to share that the young boy still thinks of what to give her when he goes out of the country with his family.

“When he’s in Japan, he would message me: ‘Ate Julia, what do you want?’ Tapos magse-send siya ng pictures ng shoes!” she said.

“Very thoughtful, maalaga, super.”

Barretto’s rumored boyfriend and co-star in “I Love You, Hater,” Joshua Garcia, was asked to react to Bimby’s sweetness.

Garcia, who was with Barretto during the interview, said it is okay with him if Aquino's youngest son continues to be expressive of his feelings for the actress.

He also noted the young boy’s generosity. “Binilhan niya ako ng bag,” he said.
