Former Pacquiao singer bags 6 medals at 2017 WCOPA

MANILA -- Madonna Decena, who got a standing ovation when she joined "Britain's Got Talent" back in 2008, added another feather to her cap as she won six medals at this year's World Championships Performing Arts (WCOPA).

Decena, who also sang "Fighting Pride" for boxing champ Manny Pacquiao, won in the country, pop, R&B, soul, Broadway and group competition categories.

"I'm ecstatic... This is my dream come true, to represent our country in international competitions. And finally, I did it and won us medals and made my country proud," Decena told ABS-CBN News on Monday.

"'BGT' was all about competing for the sake on my daughters..
but this times it's for pride and glory of our country," she added.

The competition was held last June 30 to July 8 in Long Beach, California.

Aside from Decena, actor Nolo Noel Lopez, who appeared in hit afternoon series "Pusong Ligaw" won eight medals, while singer-model Anthony Rosaldo took home six medals.

Kapamilya dance child wonder Nhikzy Calma was also named WCOPA 2017 Junior Grand Champion of the World. He also received a gold medal for being the junior grand winner of the dance division.
