MANILA - A comedy bar singer who endeared herself to viewers with her spot-on voice impersonation of actress Angel Locsin has clinched an automatic place in the semifinals of "Tawag ng Tanghalan."

Jennie Gabriel earned her fifth win in the singing contest with her soaring cover of Beyonce's "Listen," getting an averaging score of 96.8 percent from the judges. She beat Christhyll Joy Batangas, who performed Liza Minnelli's "Cabaret" and scored94.2 percent.

Gabriel is only the second contestant to make it to the third semifinals of "Tawag ng Tanghalan." She joins Baclaran-born Rufino Robles. She will return to the "It's Showtime" stage on Monday.
