DAVAO CITY - The country's longest drama anthology "Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK)" continued its 25th year anniversary celebration on Saturday.

The show's host, ABS-CBN chief content officer Charo Santos-Concio, showed her gratitude towards those whose stories have been featured in the past with an event dubbed "MMK: The Reunion" held in Davao City.

The former president of the Kapamilya network reunited with more than 40 letter senders from places like Pagadian, General Santos City, Cagayan de Oro, and Davao.

"We thought it was best to make it their very special experience 'yung mga letter sender na kinikilala natin talaga sila, na hindi namin sila nakakalimutan," Santos-Concio said.

"So our researchers went out of their way to look for them. Naghanap ng mga kamag-anak nila para lang ma-imbita natin sila sa reunion," the ABS-CBN executive added.

The campaign began last year in Visayas, gathering past letter senders from cities such as Cebu, Bacolod and Iloilo.

Santos-Concio described her two-decade stay as the host of "MMK" as a humbling experience. "At the same time, very inspiring for us kasi 'yung mga kasama ko sa MMK team, kami ang nakapag-bigay inspirasyon sa mga manonood," she explained.

"Kagagaling ko lang sa Madrid. Nakakatuwa na isang tanong lang na kumusta kayo eh lahat sila gusto nang magkuwento ng kanilang buhay, naghahanap ng kausap.

"Nakaka-proud at feeling ko handa sila magbukas ng kanilang buhay sa akin, 'yung pwede akong mahingahan ng kanilang hinaing o kahit makinig lang sa kanilang kwento," she said.

Santos-Concio also bared the lessons she learned from working on the show for 25 years. "Malalaman mo there's a bigger world out there. It develops your sense of empathy and compassion to other people. You become more understanding on the life of other people."

"Kapag tumitingin ka ngayon sa ibang tao walang judgement you just appreciate them... 'Iyon ang dinala ng MMK sa akin," she said.

Joining the "MMK: The Reunion" in Davao City were singer Angeline Quinto and action star Robin Padilla. "MMK" which debuted in 1991, kicked off its 25th year anniversary last May 29 in ASAP.
