MANILA -- Actor Dominic Ochoa is having mixed emotions now that the fantasy series "My Super D" is set to air its final episode on July 15.

In the series, which debuted last April 18, Ochoa plays the title character, an ordinary father who finds a blue diamond, which helps him turn into a superhero.

"It's been good five and half months of taping and working with good actors and I'm very, very thankful and so blessed na nabigyan ako ng ganitong klaseng role," Ochoa said in an interview with reporters on their final taping day on Wednesday.

"Actually on the way here, nagdasal ako. Parang sabi ko this is our last taping day, it's a good experience given to us by Dreamscape. Natutuwa ako na lately kapag lumalabas tayo, 'di na matronics ang lumalapit sa atin kung hindi mga bata na. It's a very big factor for me as an actor. It's my responsibility as an actor na gumaganap ng ganito na ang mga bata ay tinitignan ka talaga as a superhero. So napaka-importante at responsibilidad ko bilang 'Super D' na magbahagi ng magandang asal sa bata especially," he explained.

For Ochoa, "My Super D" ranks among his most memorable projects.

"Memorable to the point that I actually want the suit at ipapa-iskaparate ko sa loob ng bahay. Let's be realistic here: at 42-plus years old, kailan ka mabibigyan ng role na superhero?" he said.

Directed by Frasco Mortiz and Lino Cayetano, the series also stars Atoy Co, Ryan Rems, Myrtle Sarrosa, Jef Gaitan, Louie Domingo, Marina Benipayo, Bong Regala, Jason Francisco, Marvin Agustin, Noni Buencamino, Ronaldo Valdez, Bianca Manalo and child actor Marco Masa.

"My Super D" airs weeknights before "TV Patrol."
