MANILA -- Rico Blanco has joined forces with IV of Spades on a song titled "Nagbabalik," out Wednesday on Spotify.

The new tune is written by Blanco, and he told MYX Philippines that it took him a while before he found the right artists to collaborate with.

He previously announced a concert with the young band, and he shared that it was during their preparations when the idea to have them record "Nagbabalik" popped in his head.

He added that he immediately bonded with the members of IV of Spades because they had similar music tastes.

"Iba 'yung music na pinananggagalingan ng lahat ng mga naging kabanda ko dati. So nag-grow ako tuloy papunta sa direction nila," he said. "Pero ito kasing sa kanila [IV of Spades] parang ganito mismo ‘yung gusto ko ...taste-wise."

According to IV of Spades' Zild Benitez, the collaboration with Blanco, which he and his bandmates consider as one of the icons of OPM, felt effortless because of the "synchronization of ideas."

"Bukod sa natuto kami [ay] parang nagkaroon din kami [ng chance] to express ourselves kasama ‘yung isa sa pinakakilalang musician or composer/songwriter sa Pilipinas," Benitez said.
