MANILA – Just before 2019 ended, Darren Espanto took to social media to share how proud he is for finishing high school.

Espanto graduated from senior high school under the home school program of Homeschool of Asia Pacific.

Speaking to Toni Gonzaga for “I Feel U” on Sunday, the young singer admitted he’s contemplating of actually going straight to college given the current situation.

“At the moment since nasa Canada ako and naka-quarantine, it’s crossed my mind and I’ve mentioned it to my family din na paano kaya kung ituloy ko muna ang studies ko sa Canada since wala rin talaga akong magagawa sa sitwasyon natin ngayon,” he said.

But as much as possible, Espanto said he would like to pursue both his studies and his career at the same time.

Thus, it is his goal to “find a school that’s flexible enough to fit my timeline.”

“Sana mapagsabay ko silang parehas,” he said.

Espanto started his showbiz career after his stint at the first kids’ edition of “The Voice of the Philippines.”

Although he did not win the competition, Espanto has become one of the most successful alumni of the talent show.
