MANILA — Bea Alonzo neither confirmed nor denied whether a reunion project with John Lloyd Cruz is in the works, following the circulation of photos of them together in Palawan.

However, Cruz’s recent posts on his own Instagram page suggest that they might actually be doing something for their fans.

“Set namin,” Cruz wrote in the caption of their photo.

The actor’s update caught netizens’ attention, earning thousands of likes immediately.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News last Friday, Alonzo said she was happy to see Cruz and that they had a good time in Palawan.

“We were with friends also. But I can’t disclose what it’s for, yet! Pero, ano ‘yan, surprise,” she teased.

Alonzo and Cruz had been long-time onscreen partners, dating back to the 2002 primetime drama “Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay,” until the actor’s hiatus from showbiz starting late 2017 to focus on his personal life, including being a father to his 1-year-old with partner Ellen Adarna.

“Matagal kaming hindi nagkita, but we never lost touch,” Alonzo said. “Nami-miss ko siyang makatrabaho. I’m sure maraming nakaka-miss din sa kanya na tao na manonood ng pelikula.”

Alonzo and Cruz’s last film together was a “A Second Chance” in 2015. The film was a sequel to the 2007 hit “One More Chance,” which has become a modern classic with its characters Popoy (Cruz) and Basha (Alonzo) becoming pop culture favorites.
