MANILA – Five years since she left the Philippines to live in Malaysia where she eventually got married, Julia Clarete opened up about how she felt at the time when she turned her back on showbiz.

Speaking to Toni Gonzaga for the Sunday episode of “I Feel U,” Clarete admitted it wasn’t easy to leave her craft behind.

“The first thing I did was just constantly pray kasi by then, you get peace of mind. You really just ask for guidance from God kung ano ba talaga ang gusto niya for you,” she said.

But her move to a different country came with the idea of wanting some changes in her life.

“Parang I wanted to try something that was good. Something new, something good. What is it like to live in a different country? I was a different person,” she said.

While in Malaysia, Clarete said it was also fulfilling for her to just be a wife and a mom.

“It was fun. There were a lot of challenges pero it was really fun. When I had Seb, I was really the working mom. And then when Seb and I moved to Malaysia na, nagulat yung anak ko kasi sabi niya, ‘You’re just my mom now,’” she related.

Has she completely turned her back on the entertainment industry?

“The premise of me turning my back on show business was because I was leaving for another country. But if I was gonna be based here, siyempre walang complete talikod,” she said.

Clarete is back in the Philippines and has been living here with her family for two years already.
