MANILA – Morissette shared that she has already crossed paths with Sarah Geronimo in “ASAP.”
This after it was previously rumored that Morissette mocked the recent emotional breakdown of Geronimo during one of the stops of her recent US concert tour.
A version of the story alleged that Morissette was inside an "Umagang Kay Ganda" dressing room with fellow singer Angeline Quinto, when they both supposedly ridiculed Geronimo’s meltdown.
Morissette has since denied these accusations, stressing Geronimo remains one of her idols in the industry.
Speaking to entertainment site PEP, Morissette said she is relieved to see her former “The Voice of the Philippines” coach in a happy mood again after everything that happened.
“Nagkita? Yes, pero parang daan-daan lang. Hi, hello lang, and then nag-greet din siya for my birthday, so I’m very happy to see Ate [Sarah] again. Very ano na naman ang mood niya, coming from of course 'yung mga videos dun sa States, happy siya,” she said.
Meanwhile, Morissette also addressed criticism that she supposedly upstaged “American Idol” season 11 runner-up Jessica Sanchez when they had a duet of “Stone Cold” also on “ASAP.”
“Unang-una, ako, personally, I think I wouldn’t upstage anybody, lalung-lalo na for someone I really respect. I love working with Jess. Ang sarap niyang ka-duet, 'yung bigayan, very powerful, unique talaga ang boses niya,” she said.
”I think the reason why they think na nang upstage ako is because of that last two notes I hit sa song. Ako naman ginawa ko lang 'yung sa study, ganun talaga 'yung sa original, sumunod lang ako. I just did the original, 'yung original version ni Demi Lovato.”
Asked if she and Sanchez were able to talk about the issue when it came out, Morissette said: “About that, no. But after the performance, gusto niyang makipag-hang out. Naghahanap lang ako ng time na makalabas kami.”
