"Wala silang ibang sinigaw kung hindi, 'Tumalon ka na diyan,'" the comedian recalled in an emotional interview on "Tonight With Boy Abunda" this Friday. "Wala akong narinig na, 'Huwag mo gawin iyan.' Ang sinigaw nila sa akin, 'Dalian mo, kanina pa kami rito ha.' ...Akala nila nagpapatawa ka pa rin."

"Nakatikim ako ng drugs, sinubukan ko. Nasarapan ka, naging bisyo ko na," he admitted, explaining further that he began feeling paranoid shortly after. The story he believed was that someone was out to kill him, when there was none.

Austria survived the incident, largely thanks to his showbiz friends. This included fellow comedian Eric Nicolas, who pulled him back inside the building. "Kung nagkamali sila, baka wala na ako," he said.

Tearfully, he recalled losing the jeepney he and his son used to live in to the flooding caused by tropical storm Ondoy.

To illustrate the dire conditions he experienced, he shared that he and his son at one point made do with a pack of polvoron as their meal for the day. He also said that they were lucky if they could earn P20 off the bets he made on his son's basketball games, because that meant they could eat rice.
