A 'KapareWho' contestant on Tuesday, netizens claim, resembles and sounds like screen veteran Mon Confiado. ABS-CBN

MANILA — Mon Confiado topped Twitter trends on Tuesday as "It's Showtime" viewers speculated whether the screen veteran was indeed one of the masked contestants in the noontime progam's matchmaking segment "KapareWho."

The compatibility game, which features single or widowed individuals aged 40 and above, introduced a fresh batch of seekers including a man with the nickname "Bampira Usog."

He took part in a series of tasks to help two women determine their date companion from a pool of three men, without ever seeing each other.

As the segment progressed, netizens who were tuned in noticed that "Bampira Usog," despite having his face covered, resembled Confiado, and had the same voice as the actor most recently known for his role as Emilio Aguinaldo on the big screen.

However, he was ultimately not picked by either of the female contestants, making him a contestant anew in the next edition of "KapareWho." As he did not get a match, his mask was not removed, leaving no confirmation of whether "Bampira Usog" was indeed Confiado.

By the end of "KapareWho," the actor's full name and the official hashtag of the Tuesday episode ranked among the most talked about topics on Twitter.

If the mystery contestant does turn out to be Confiado, it will not be the first time "KapareWho" has featured a celebrity as a contestant. Previously, the likes of Wowie de Guzman, Jeric Raval, and Carlos Agassi have appeared on the segment.
