MANILA - Moira dela Torre admitted clashing with Regine Velasquez on "Idol Philippines," but she said what happened on the show stayed on the show.
"Opo, pero kasi doon lang 'yun. What happens on the table stays on the table. The moment we stand up, okay na kami ni Mama Reg," Dela Torre told "Tonigh With boy Abunda" Monday.
"Ang pinanggagalingan ni Mama Reg was ayaw niya na may kapareho ako ng boses. Kumbaga, ang sinasabi niya, alam niya kapag binabago ng isang tao 'yung boses niya, or kung natural 'yung boses niya, ganoon talaga," she added.
According to Dela Torre, she understands how difficult it is to look for one's signature sound, that's why she defended a contestant.
In an episode which aired earlier this month, Velasquez told a contestant that she sounds similar to Dela Torre.
"My problem is, you guys have the same sound to me. You all sound the same. I know it is current, but you sound the same," she said, adding the contestants may have been deliberately making their voices sound like that of Dela Torre's voice.
"There are going to be people who appreciate you, and may mga people din na hindi, but whatever sound you decide to go for, make sure na ito 'yung magpapakita kung sino talaga si Leann," Dela Torre told the contestant, Leann Ganzon.
