MANILA – Video-sharing mobile app TikTok is utilizing its platform as it takes part in the coordinated COVID-19 relief efforts around the world.

This week, it will be launching two live vertical-format K-Pop concerts: “TikTok Stage Live from Seoul” on May 25 at 4 p.m., and “TikTok Stage with HIPHOPPLAYA” on May 27 at 7 p.m.

Open to viewers in the Philippines and around the world, TikTok will donate US$0.50 for every live viewer who will tune in.

All funds that will be raised will benefit charity efforts for those most affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

The full-fledged concerts will go live on the TikTok Stage in-app channel featuring live performances from the most famous K-Pop groups.

Among the performers on May 25 include Monsta X, iKon, Kang Daniel, AKMU and Apink. The excitement will continue on May 27 with performances from Jay Park, Zico, Epik High, and Crush and Dean among others.

“We're grateful for all the artists and entertainers who use TikTok to connect with their fans, and can’t wait until we can see them live on stage again,” said John Castro, user and content operations manager, TikTok Philippines.

“Till then, we’re committed to connecting our community and fans with these massively talented acts from home -- all while doing our part to aid COVID-19 relief efforts,” he added.
