Angeli Bayani is relishing the spotlight in France after a short film she stars in, "Jodilerks Dela Cruz, Employee of the Month," was chosen to compete at this year's Cannes Film Festival.

The independent feature, directed by Filipino director Carlo Manatad, is one of the 10 short films picked to be part of the festival's International Critics' Week, which is dedicated to new talent.

On her Instagram account, Bayani posted a photo of herself in an elegant teal gown as she attended film's world premiere alongside co-star Ross Pesigan and Manatad himself. Film Development Council of the Philippines chair Liza Diño and director Brillante Mendoza were also in Cannes in support of the film.

This isn't the first time Bayani attended Cannes. Back in 2013, she was part of Lav Diaz's "Norte, Hangganan ng Kasayasayan" that was presented in the Un Certain Regard section of the festival.

In the days leading up the start of the 2017 Cannes, Bayani was seen wearing a gas attendant's uniform -- the same one she wore in "Jodilerks"-- and took pictures with random people as she toured the city.

"Jodilerks" tells the story of a gasoline station attendant working in a run-down station that's about to be closed. It aims to poke fun at the country's unemployment problem. It was picked from 1,700 entries submitted from around the world.
